A security guard at a kindergarten in China has captured the affection of millions. This happened when he danced a waltz with a little girl who was sad because her mother was late to pick her up. Liu Jie, a 52-year-old security staff member at a kindergarten in Shandong Province, comforted the girl, whose nickname is Little Peach, on March 7. In a video post, Liu said, “I want you to go home cheerfully, and then your mother won’t feel guilty anymore since you are happy.” This video received praise from more than five million people.
Liu, who has been working at the kindergarten for eight years, disclosed that he used to be a professional dancer. He studied classical and folk dance in college and became a member of a song and dance troupe in 1993. Later, during China’s economic transformation, he quit his dancing job to become a businessman in Guangdong Province. Although he didn’t elaborate on what kind of business he was engaged in, Liu stated that he had a stable financial situation.
In 2017, Liu came back to Shandong to take care of his 93-year-old parents. He left his business in Guangzhou to his wife and children and started working as a security guard at the kindergarten. Liu said, “I’m a workaholic, and I really like kids.” He could remember the names of every child and their parents and was in charge of greeting and seeing the children off every day. He also lent a hand in dance classes, and his excellent dance skills amazed many people online.
