Chinese tech giant Huawei unveiled the world’s first tri-fold smartphone on Tuesday in Shenzhen, South China, showcasing several cutting-edge innovations, including a dual-hinge system and advanced screen-folding technology.
According to a press release from Huawei, within the first 24 hours of pre-orders, which began on Saturday, the Mate XT garnered over 2 million orders. By Tuesday, pre-orders for the device had surged past 3.4 million units, with prices starting at 19,999 yuan ($2,809.2).
The Huawei Mate XT features a unique design that allows users to unfold the device into a 10.2-inch tablet, boasting a resolution of 2232 X 3184 pixels in its fully expanded, three-screen mode. The smartphone comes with 16GB of RAM and offers three storage options: 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB, priced at 19,999 yuan, 21,999 yuan, and 23,999 yuan, respectively.
