According to a report from Xinhua News Agency on September 2, South Africa’s Department of Home Affairs has introduced a new initiative aimed at speeding up and streamlining visa services to attract more tourists from China and India.
The statement highlights that the initiative is focused on providing faster and simplified visa processes for Chinese and Indian travelers. As part of the program, approved travel agencies from China and India will have the opportunity to register with the Department of Home Affairs. These agencies will be responsible for conducting thorough screenings of tour group members and will take on relevant responsibilities, while the department’s specialized team will rapidly process the group visa applications submitted by these agencies.
This initiative is scheduled to take effect in January 2025, with more detailed guidelines expected to be announced soon.
