Sufyan Shomokh Marwan Sufyan, a one – year – old Yemeni girl, has become the first foreign national to be given a digital vaccine record in China. The record was issued in Yiwu, a city in Zhejiang Province. This was made possible due to the endeavors of the provincial and city centers for disease control and prevention.
Reaching this significant point involved surmounting technical difficulties associated with adapting the program for transnational use, providing multilingual services, recognizing non – Chinese identification documents, and procuring such records. The initiative expands the scope of digital vaccine records, making them accessible not only to Chinese citizens but also to foreigners.
“The process of getting the digital vaccine record is highly efficient and convenient. I can view it right on my mobile phone,” stated Sufyan Marwan Sufyan Mohanmmed, the girl’s father. He further mentioned that this service has streamlined the vaccine reservation and school enrollment procedures.
Lou Xiaoming, the deputy director of the Zhejiang Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention, elaborated that the vaccine record system underwent adaptive modifications to address the disparities between vaccines in China and those in other countries. This guarantees effective information gathering and averts problems like missed or duplicate vaccinations when children begin school.
