China’s meteorological authorities issued renewed blue alerts on Saturday for cold waves and strong winds, warning of sharp temperature drops and powerful winds affecting various regions in the coming days.

From Saturday through Thursday, temperatures across much of the country are expected to decrease by 6 to 10 degrees Celsius, according to the National Meteorological Center. In parts of northwestern, northern, and northeastern China, temperature drops of 12 to 14 degrees Celsius are anticipated, with some areas experiencing decreases of up to 16 degrees Celsius.

The National Meteorological Center has also reissued a blue alert for strong winds, predicting that between 8 a.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday, certain areas will face powerful winds. These include the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Qinghai and Gansu provinces, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, the ****** Strait, waters east of ******, and parts of the South China Sea.

Simultaneously, the Beijing Meteorological Service has forecast a notable temperature drop starting Sunday evening, accompanied by rain and snow in the city. Western and northern Beijing could see sleet or snow, while rainfall is expected to dominate in most urban and lowland areas. Precipitation is projected to cease by noon on Monday, followed by strong winds and freezing temperatures, persisting until Wednesday.

China’s weather warning system uses a four-tier color code, with red signifying the most extreme conditions, followed by orange, yellow, and blue.
