At a routine policy briefing held by the State Council Information Office on September 10, it was revealed that foreign arrivals for tourism and business activities in China saw significant growth in the first seven months of this year.
Foreign tourists visiting China reached 5.722 million during this period, while 3.803 million visitors attended business events, marking year-on-year increases of 403% and 81.5%, respectively.
Ma Li, Director of the Industrial Development Department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, stated that the next steps will focus on strengthening inter-departmental coordination and cooperation between central and local governments. The aim is to continuously increase the supply of multi-level, high-quality inbound tourism products and promote professional, multi-dimensional tourism marketing to maintain positive momentum and drive high-quality development in inbound tourism.
With the continued focus on high-quality development, China’s inbound tourism sector is poised for sustained growth, helping to boost the country’s economy while enhancing its global image.
