13 Foreign Tourists Safely Return After Xizang EarthQuake

On the morning of January 7, at 9:05 AM, a 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck Dingri County in Shigatse, ******. In response to the disaster, a press conference regarding earthquake relief efforts was held on January 8 in Shigatse.

During the press briefing, it was reported that 484 tourists, including both group and independent travelers, were present in the affected area at the time of the earthquake. Among these tourists were 13 foreign nationals—8 from Indonesia, 4 from Australia, and 1 from Nepal. By 12:00 PM on January 7, all tourists had been safely evacuated to Shigatse city, with no individuals left stranded.
